Cricklade Youth vs ASC Youth
6th Sept 2009

In our first league game of the season everybody was really looking forward to this fixture, the lads were very excited and started the game at a good pace, the team formation was excellent as Captain James Moody marshalled the team.

Harry Woodfield picked up a pass in midfield rode two challenges and fired the ball past the helpless Cricklade keeper, our first league goal which sparked celebrations from all involved.

ASC Youth didnt have it all there own way as Cricklade were playing some nice football, Lukas Reay and Ewan Wilson were defending very well and didnt allow any chances and any shots that did get through were well dealt with by ASC keeper Ollie Baycroft, as the game wore on ASCs wingers Blake Batson and Flynn Day were using every opportunity to get forward to try to lay passes in to striker Harry one of which he latched on to and sent a fizzing shot into the goal.

In the second half subs were made and on came Joseph Saunders and Oscar Epplestone who both had a brilliant game in Midfield, the game flowed back and forth with both sides having chances.

Cricklade managed to pull one back after they made a swift attack, Ollie dived to his right but just missed the shot.

The game finished and both teams had a penalty shootout which everyone enjoyed.

Well Done to the boys, Thanks to the parents of both teams and to Cricklade manager Wayne Twitchell for making us welcome, a great game between two good sides.
