Our third friendly match saw us entertain Lambourn at Broad Town and again the players couldn’t wait to get out there and play.

It was a chilly morning, but the players soon forgot about the cold weather and worked hard during the warm up to prepare themselves for the match ahead.

We spoke before the match and in training about the importance of trying to keep our shape and to relax on the ball, as this was the only difference between us and Stratton in our last game. It was pleasing to see that they took this on board and the improvement was fantastic. We felt the balance of the team was also good today with the lads looking comfortable in their various positions.

We tried a few different things today and we were particularly keen to see how Louis B (LJ) would fit in playing in the centre midfield role. Although it took him a while to get to grips with this new position, he definitely got stronger as the game went on. Kian again did well in goal particularly with his positioning and his kicking. Alex and Daniel made a formidable partnership at the back and Joe, Louis, William E (Willo), William C and Howard were a constant threat to the opposition throughout the match.

With a return fixture at Lambourn already set up for next week, the team are now starting to play well together and look stronger and stronger with each game they play.
