A tough match today with WHJ coming to Elites home ground due to weather conditions.
WHJ have a reputation as a decent side and very physical in their method of play
. Elite started brightly, having the first run on goal but the WHJ defence was solid to stop any shots on goal. The physical side of WHJ came out early as Ash got on the receiving end of two bad tackles as he got past players.
This didnt stop him as Ash made a great through ball to Olli O'Shea who cooly finished to take the lead. WHJ 0 - 1 ESC.
Unfortunately this didnt last as WHJ made a run on goal and faced little opposition to draw level. WHJ 1 - 1 ESC
Elite started to pile on the pressure and had a few good chances including some good link up play with Euan on the left crossing to Olli O whose shot was parried by the keeper into Ash's path only for the shot to go wide. With the ball still in WHJ's area Euan managed to latch onto the ball and smash it into the top of the net to go ahead again. WHJ 1 - 2 ESC
Elite finished the half well with lots of pressure but not managing to make the most of their opportunities.
Elite began the second half as they finished the first and Ash had a lobbed shot on goal which just cleared the crossbar. Another Elite attack down the left saw Olli O cross to Oli S who shot just wide.
WHJ were not out of it and a throw in on their left side came right across the center of the pitch for the attacker to shoot unchallenged only to go wide. Unfortunately another scramble saw the WHJ attackers shoot to score an equaliser. WHJ 2 - 2 ESC
James got in on the act and had a bit of space in midfield and had a long range shot hit the bottom of the post and rebound into the keepers hands.
A strange incident took place with the ball still in open play the WHJ keeper put the ball down and backed away to kick it but Olli O'shea nipped in and took it past the keeper to take the lead. This took almost everyone by surprise as they didnt know what was happening. WHJ 2 - 3 ESC
WHJ got a little bit fired up and managed to ride their luck piling pressure on the Elite players and getting away with a few fouls and some shirt pulling and managed to muscle their way back into the game an easy equaliser. WHJ 3 - 3 ESC
Elite tried to respond and kept making opportunities with a great strike from Olli O'shea hitting the underside of the bar before crossing the line only to be disallowed to leave the game at a stalemate. WHJ 3 - 3 ESC
