After having our game postponed last week due to horrendous rain, it was nice to see perfect conditions for today’s encounter with Highworth Town.

After a few weeks training with us, we decided the time was right for the newest member of our squad, Rayna, to take her bow. Although a little nervous to start with Rayna was soon in the thick of things and put in a great performance, as did the whole squad. This was another end to end game with both teams trying to play good football.

Having worked quite a bit on getting goal side over recent weeks I was particularly impressed to see how well the players had remembered this and this in turn made us look a lot stronger defensively and from set pieces.

The passing was also good and is starting to become more consistent as the weeks go on. Two good goals were scored today, the first by Matthew and the second an OG after a good spell of pressure, resulted in the Highworth GK not being able to hold a powerful shot from Joe.

Again, I’d like to congratulate both teams and parents on a fantastic game of football which was played in the correct manner. A number of parents commented that they didn’t want the game to end which was great to hear.

Well done to both teams, can’t wait to play again!!
