Highworth vs ASC Youth
11th Oct 2009

Sundays match was a trip away to Highworth in rainy conditions, it rained all game long and then the sun came out at the end of the match!! We started off very slowly and before we knew it we were a couple of goals down, Flynn who bravely offered to stand in as goalkeeper struggled with the conditions but put in a lot of effort, Due to players missing a few of the stronger members of the squad were not available and to be fair in the first half we really struggled to maintain any shape or pressure.

The second half started a lot more brightly with ASC looking more assured, we had a joke telling session at half time and this seemed to put smiles back on the players faces and they played with much more purpose, Harry took over in goal and really played well, Lukas Reay who recently has really developed into a very good player was at the heart of all our good moves, he tackles like John Terry!!!

We were unlucky not to get on the score sheet and we only let in a couple of goals in the second half. Back to the training ground on Saturday to work on our development.

Im not unduly concerned with our progress, as Ive said before we are getting better, individual players such as Lukas are starting to find there feet and others will follow his lead.

Thanks to all again for working round the last minute change of Kick Off and for putting up with the awful weather.
