Today’s match against Greenmeadow was a game I was personally looking forward to after seeing a marked improvement in the attitude and commitment of our players over the last few weeks. However nobody could have expected how our excellent performance was to be overshadowed by the awful injury to Danny Carter.
Only 5 minutes had gone when Danny tried to nick the ball around a Greenmeadow player who had legitimately gone in committed to win the ball. This resulted in a nasty break to Danny’s right ankle which would need an emergency operation later that night.
Unfortunately, football is a contact sport and these things do occasionally happen, but I’m sure DC will make a full recovery and we all look forward to having him back in the team as soon as possible.
As previously mentioned this was an excellent performance and we looked a lot more like our old selves. With Aaron scoring in between 2 Kezza goals, this was enough to give us the full 3 points and hopefully set us back on the road to some consistent performances once more.
