Sunday saw the visit of Croft Jnrs for our first home fixture of the season, unfortunately things didnt go as planned!!
On the very first Croft attack a handball took place in the penalty box and the resulting penalty was put away despite a great dive from ASCs Ollie Baycroft.
Croft then attacked at will and scored several goals in quick succession, ASC then started to bring themselves into the game, Joe Blankley in his first game was superb in defence alongside the reliable James Moody and started to create a platform for ASC to push forward.
Harry Woodfield was unlucky at times not to break through on goal.
In the second half it was a similar situation with Croft attacking at will and ASC digging in, it was a lesson for the ASC team and a mark of where the team want to be, the game was played in a really good manner with all supporters enjoying a good match.
ASC will learn from this, they are getting better but maybe this game came a little soon in our development, the rematch is in March so watch this space!!!
Thanks again to both sets of parents to Paul Gillie for some great refereeing and thanks to Carl Bunce from Croft Juniors, youve got a great team there.
