Our second league match of the season saw us entertain Purton at our new venue, Lydiard Park.
As has happened in previous games, we got off to a good start scoring our first goal within the first ten minutes with Kez feeding Ed who made no mistake with an excellent finish. Ed then got his and ASC’s second with a powerful strike hit from the edge of the penalty box after some good wing play from Aaron. Joe E made it 3-0 connecting with a long corner to head past the Purton keeper before Ed got his third after being put through by Ciaran to make the score 4-0.
A rare mix up in defence then saw Purton grab a goal back, but Kez pulled back the 4 goal deficit when he ran onto a through pass and beat 2 defenders before slotting the ball home. Ed then continued his best display of the season so far, with his fourth and final goal, running clear of the defence after a fine through ball from Louis. Into the last few minutes and Perry slipped the ball out to Jamie, who cut in from the left before lofting the ball over the keeper from 25 yards.
Another good result, which sees ASC Youth heading the right way up the league table. There were a number of decent performances this evening and our momentum and confidence seems to be building with every game we play.
