Elite Soccer Coaching 4 - 4 Wickham Wanderers
16th Nov 2008

This was expected to be a tough match and the beginning of a hard series of matches which would determine whether Elite would be in contention for the league or not...

Elite started well with an early attack culminating in a shot by James which went just wide of the goal. The WW keeper made a weak kick out which fell to Oli O'Shea who managed to run through the defence and nutmeg the keeper to score the opener. ESC 1 - 0 WW.

Straight from the kick off the WW attacker ran through the Elite team and scored - Elites lead lasted 30 seconds, ESC 1 - 1 WW

Elite were on the back foot and the WW team got more physical resulting in Ash having to go off injured for the second week running. WW then caught out the Elite defence and took the lead. ESC 1 - 2 WW

Despite Elite having some chances these were all wide of the mark, WW then increased their lead with another goal. ESC 1 - 3 WW

With the half drawing to a close Elite had a chance to get back into the game and the opportunity fell to Ash who poked the ball towards the goal. ESC 2 - 3 WW

With some changes at half time and some tough talking Elite came out and again looked like they were going to be second best as WW had some early chances trying to catch Elite out.

Elite had a corner which resulted in a goal mouth scramble and the ball fell to Rhys whose shot was caught by the keeper after it had crossed the line for the equaliser. ESC 3 - 3 WW.

Unfortunately Elite couldnt contain the attacking WW and gave away a free kick wide on the right which sailed over everyone for them to take the lead again. ESC 3 - 4 WW

With some more changes to try and keep in the game Elite started a move in midfield with Ash who passed to Euan on the left and made a run down the line, skipping a few late tackles, to cross into the box and was met by Seans head to get the equaliser. ESC 4 - 4 WW

A tough game with a few of the WW players being spoken to for late tackles, etc. Elite seemsto struggle against the more physical opponents and we still have to play the two top teams in the league.
