Sundays match was our first match back after the Christmas break and all the arctic weather we have been having, our opponents were Cricklade who we had narrowly beaten in an earlier fixture at their ground.

ASC started off very brightly and pushed the ball about with confidence and caught Cricklade on the back foot, the defence of Joe S in goal and Lukas and Blake were providing an excellent platform for ASCs attacks, our first goal came with a bustling run by top scorer Harry W who powered a shot towards the Cricklade goal which managed to squirm under the unlucky Cricklade keeper.

ASC kept up the pressure throughout the first half with good work coming from Oscar who bravely took a ball in the face to then immediatley header the ball straight after, Joe B wrapped up the goals in the first half with a trademark left footed strike which again bobbled over the Cricklade goal line, a good half from ASC, we made changes in the 2nd half with Harry going in goal and Joe S coming out on pitch and Flynn and Blake went off and the team seemed to become unbalanced.

Cricklade made changes and became a different side and were passing the ball around at will and were making some dangerous runs down both ASCs flanks, ASC dug in and defended well but after another great Cricklade move they scored, ASC were on the back foot now, ASC became a bit scrappy and were not settled as they had been although a quick counter attack saw Joe B break through shoot and we were waiting for the net to bulge and the ball bounced off the post.

Cricklade went up the other end and again after great work from the Cricklade forward scored again to draw the game, both teams after that had chances but a draw was a fair result in the end.

It was a great game,played in the right way and the right atmosphere, thanks to all parents from both sides and to Wayne the Cricklade coach, we look forward to the next one!!
