Wootton Bassett 0 - 9 ASC Youth
18th April 2010

A nice bright, warm and sunny morning greeted us when we arrived at Ballards Ash for our match against Wootton Bassett. Again we had to re jig the team a bit having only 11 available players due to injury and holiday commitments, but everyone who played today put in a great shift and played some of the best football we’ve seen all season.

With our aim still being to try and end this campaign on a high after having a very difficult season, it was good to see us start the match in a strong and confident way. This paid dividends as we went 3-0 up in the first 20 minutes thanks to a Kezza hat-trick. Not to be outdone Jack also weighed in with a well taken hat-trick of his own and Josh, Will and an OG completed a very good 9-0 win.

This match was played in the right spirit and was well supported by both sets of parents which is always nice to see. But it was the football we played during this match which pleased me the most. Although we’ve lost a number of games this season, we’ve very rarely been out played, so to play well and get the right result for once made this a great performance.
