ASC U8’s arguably faced their toughest challenge so far this season, away to Highworth Town; acknowledged as one of the better sides in the league.
Both teams started off at a furious pace with chances at both ends.
Some fine saves again from Michael Christmas-Boulton stopped the visitors from going down early on, but a goalmouth scramble towards the end of the first half ensured ASC were left with a 1-0 deficit at the break.
Continuing the pace where it had all started, the game went Highworth’s way again when they managed to score another midway through the second half.
A late consolation goal from Ben Evans (Captain) gave ASC a well earned reprieve.
Excellent performances from all, particularly Alex Wykeham-Martin in defence and Sam Singa also in defence contributed to the strongest showing from the side to date and a great game for the neutrals.
