After spending the last few months training with the U7’s Dave and I thought the U6’s were now ready to play in their first match.

Blunsdon Colts were to be our first opponents in what turned out to be a close game that was played in exactly the right spirit, which is always great to see at this age.

Both sets of parents were fantastic and both clubs showed what kid’s football should be all about. The score wasn’t really important today, the main thing was that every player had good memories of their first match and all came off the pitch with a smile on their faces and wanting to do it all over again.

ASC had a squad of 8 players today with regulars Kian, Daniel, Alex, Howard, William E and Joe being joined by 2 new players Louis and William.

Some of the football these lads played was very good at times and in particular it was good to see them trying some of the things we’ve been working on in training.

Both Dave and I are looking forward to working and developing this group of players in the future and we’re looking to add to the players match experience by organising more games to prepare them for the U7’s league next season.
