ASC Youth U8’s had a score to settle against Ferndale after a defeat at home earlier in the season.
With no game the previous week, ASC started confidently with the manager, Craig Wykeham-Martin repositioning the squad and players may have been forgiven for needing more time to adjust.
There was no such time needed as from early on they were on top. An in-form Jack Paines managed to net two goals past a Ferndale side that just didn’t know what had hit them.
A further three more, again from Paines, ensured the visitors went into the break five goals ahead with some superb passing and movement to look back on.
Coming into the second half, Ferndale were strong starters and managed to claw back two consolation efforts.
With tactical substitutions, ASC regained control and with the help of Tom Black and Jack Rossi, completed the game 7-2 winners.
