Wroughton Juniors 1 - 2 Elite Soccer Coaching
22nd Feb 2009

Two memorable moments from todays match was to see Razor debut in goal and Oli O'Shea's goal.

Always a very tense meeting between Elite and Wroughton not least because we play them twice in three weeks at their ground.
The game was very even for the first few minutes as both teams were trying to figure each other out. The first effort fell to Ash who had a shot on goal saved.

A link up in the middle between Ash and Oli S saw Oli's shot go just wide of the far post. Neither teams seemed to be playing decent football.

A freekick to Elite in their half gave James the opportunity to fire a ball into the box which was met by Oli S were turned and slotted the ball into the net to take the lead. WJ 0 - 1 ESC

The resulting kickoff gave Wroughton the chance to shoot from distance which was easily caught by Razor.

The next incident in the game was when James again picked up the ball at the back and lobbed it into the box Oli O'Shea flicked the ball over the keepers head and banged it into the net. Best goal so far this season. End of first half WJ 0 - 2 ESC.

The second half was a very scrappy affair and neither team looked likely to score until an uncleared corner saw the ball fall to WJ midfielder who managed to squeeze the ball into the net from a very tight angle. WJ 1 - 2 ESC

Elite had a couple more chances to score with Oli O'Shea hitting the angle of the crossbar and Euan having a scrambled shot saved by the keeper.

A hard won game against a decent side, lets hope they get a good result against Wootton Bassett to keep our League hopes alive!
