A tough game as LY are one of the best sides in this league with threats coming from all over the pitch. A win for Lydiard would have put them in a commanding position at the top of the league.

LY were the first to have effort which was saved by Razor. But it was ESC who scored first with a move down the left hand side saw Ash pick up the ball and a simple through ball to Euan gave him the chance to flick the ball towards the net...rolling in seemed to take forever. ESC 1 - 0 LY

The lead wasnt to last long as LY got themselves back into the game with a well taken goal. ESC 1 - 1 LY

ESC had another chance with Oli O'Shea throwing the ball in for Euan's shot to be saved.

LY gained a corner and made the most of it by scoring and taking the lead. ESC 1 - 2 LY

This was a must win game for LY and ESC attacked to try and draw level. A mistake by the LY goalie who caught the ball whilst he had his front foot and hands over the line resulted in a FK. James stepped up and thumped the ball into the top right corner to draw level. ESC 2 - 2 LY

ESC were now back in the game and kept making runs down the left with Oli S receiving the ball on the right and his shot being saved. ESC were given another FK when Ash jumped for a header and got an elbow in the neck. The FK was put just wide by James.

With all the pressure on LY the next goal came when a shot into the box had the ball bobbling around before Oli Sinclair poked it across the line for the lead. ESC 3 - 2 LY

The second half started with LY fired up to get back into the game and had an early shot on goal which again Razor saved.

ESC were still pressing and trying to increase their lead with Euan having several shots from distance only just going wide of the post. The game became very tense and hard fought in the middle of the pitch with both teams trying to gain the advantage.

A couple of times the LY forwards had 1v1 chances and blasted wide or over the bar. Both keepers were kept busy having to make shots but neither team can capitalise on possession and the score remained ESC 3 - 2 LY
