ASC Youth 3 - 1 GESS
28th Mar 2010

Due to the way the lads have been training and playing recently, everyone at the club felt we were starting to show massive improvements and it was just a matter of time before we turned those good performances into wins once again.

After being narrowly beaten twice this season by GESS, we were keen to put the record straight again and prove we are still capable of competing with every team in this league and with a new sense of confidence spreading through the team we hoped that today we could get those all important 3 points.

The match started with ASC showing signs of the old flowing football we have become accustomed to over the years, but despite creating a few good chances for ourselves early on it was GESS who opened the scoring with their first chance of the game. But this seemed to spur us on even more and there were no signs of us accepting defeat this time around. So when Aaron coolly slotted in the equaliser to finish off a great move I was pretty confident we’d push on and claim the points. Ten minutes later and a long clearance from Josh was flicked on by Aaron and Kez was on hand to complete another fine move. Will then added the third in the second half keeping his composure well to round the keeper and make the final score 3-1 to ASC.

Another good performance today, reminiscent of the some of the performances we used to put in on a regular basis. With the back four and GK looking steady and commanding and the midfield being focussed and disciplined whilst up front our finishing was back to it’s clinical best.

Final Score: ASC Youth 3 – 1 GESS
